HARAU VALLEY: A DREAMLAND IN WEST SUMATERA

Hi everyone so in this page I'm gonna share about my trip to West Sumatera, especially when I went to Harau Valley, Limapuluh Koto. It's located near Bukittinggi so if you wanna spend a night, just stay in Bukittinggi because there are more hotels or mostels. Harau Valley is a valley that has a very very beautiful landscape, just like Ngarai Sianok, it has an amazing cliff. Harau Valley is pretty wide and to enter that area, you have to go through a small street with a gate written 'Lembah Harau'. Then you'll see that beautiful cliff in the left side of you. Harau Valley has some spots that you can visit, like a waterfall, a river, a wood photobooth, and a picnic spot. I will explain all those spots specifically here!

This is Harau Valley,  isn't it beautiful?

This is the cliff you'll see on your right after going through the small street to enter Harau Valley

So first, the waterfall. After you go through the first small street, you will find the end of the street so the option is go right or go left. The waterfall is on the left and it's exactly located beside the street so you'll see it on your right side. I came there on December so maybe it's rainy season. There's water fell on that waterfall, maybe if you come in the dry season there'll be no waterfall so make sure you pick a rainy season to come there. The water came from the top of the cliff and fell and there's a small pond under it. You can take a picture there because it's unique for me. The flow of water wasn't too heavy, it's just a slow light flows.
The waterfall, the water even doesn't seem flow

Well maybe it flows a little
This is how you can take a good picture with that waterfall

The second spot is the river. Actually I don't know exactly the name of it but the way to go there is just straight on that street after the waterfall, then you'll be see a spot with some buildings but behind it there's a river and it's beautiful because I came there when there weren't a lot of people. There were some ducks that you can bike in on the water and some swings, slides and those kinda kid stuffs. What you're gonna do there? Just take a sit, take a breath, take a picture and being amazed with that beautiful creature of Allah. I really love it!
The river

OMG I SUPER LOVE IT

There's also Lembah Harau sign

Oooh look at that cliff 😍

The third is a wood photobooth, why do I call it like that? Because it's a place with some photobooth made by wood, so it makes sense right? Lol. It's located near the waterfall, I forgot exactly it's before or after the waterfall after you go right when you meet the end of the first small street. You just have to pay IDR 5000 to take a picture or those photobooth, those are cute and beautiful and have a good background, of course that cliff. Well to take a picture there, you need to be careful because there were some photobooth that had to be climbed to take you to a higher place. But I'm pretty sure you're gonna love it!

Be careful when you climb it
Okay I was in a nest

And second nest
And how cute my parents were

The last spot is a picnic spot, why do I call that? Because this was the most crowded spot when I came to Harau Valley. Maybe it's the most popular spot or everyone only knew that spot, well Idk. Yes, this last spot is pretty wide and you can go right after you find the end of the first small street. Actually this spot is located beside a boarding school. Before this place, you'll see some places like a garden but I didn't go there cause I wasn't interested, maybe you can check it if you want to. This place has a grass field where you can have a picnic there. The unique thing is that grass field's surrounded by a small narrow river but there were some canoes. Some people went through that river by a small canoe, but I didn't do it because I was scared if I would be sunk 😂😂 You can take a picture while you have a picnic on the grass field, or you can take a picture in this unique dry tree with no leafs. But this tree was full of people too so it's hard to take a good picture. There were some merchants there if you wanna buy some food. Also there's a traditional West Sumatera house, maybe you wanna take a picture with it. I forgot how much cost spent to enter this last spot, but as long as I remember, there's just a cost for parking. If I take a loot at Instagram, there are a lot new photobooth in this last spots that I haven't seen before.

Well, that's all I can share. I was really amazed when I went there. I thought I would build a house there to spend a holiday because it's peaceful, green, and really beautiful 😭. I hope you'll be there soon and being amazed by Harau Valley!!
