10 MOST PLACES YOU HAVE TO VISIT WHEN YOU'RE IN BANDA ACEH

In this post, I'm gonna share you some places in Banda Aceh that you have to visit! Banda Aceh is the capital city of Aceh, so as a capital city there are many government buildings include the airport and harbour. But the special thing is Banda Aceh has many beautiful places like beaches and some historical places about tsunami. So here they are:

1. Baiturrahman Grand Masjid
So this is the mooosst famous masjid in Aceh. This masjid is a witness of how great He is, it wasn't drowned or damaged when Tsunami came. You can come to this masjid whenever you want, even in the noon or afternoon. After magrib there are many colorful lights so if you take a picture, it'll be more different than if you take a picture in the noon. The architecture of this masjid also too beautiful, inside and outside. The ceiling is carved and there are many giant umbrellas just like in Masjid Nabawi, Madinah outside this masjid. So you can sit under these umbrellas without getting heated!

2. Tsunami museum
So this also the famous and important place you have to visit. This museum is included many photos, mockup, names, and what makes it special is the building was design by Mayor of Bandung, Mr Ridwan Kamil! You won't be regret to visit here because it's free and the building's too iconic ❤️ But you have to make sure that your visit isn't in sholat's time, because it closes around 12.00 AM and opens around 13.00 AM for zuhur.  It also closes again when ashar time is coming.

3. Float PLTD
This site is a giant ship, a Diesel Generator or Power Plants (PLTD) ship that was dragged by Tsunami until 5 km far away from where it stayed. But the thing is there's someone inside this ship who was sleeping and didn't realize that there's tsunami until he woke up and confused. So this ship is turned to be a kinda museum where there's pictures and videos about the accident. You can come inside and take a stairs to be on top of this ship, so you can see Banda Aceh clearly. This site also closes at sholat's time.
I told ya the ship is big

4. The float boat in Kampung Lampulo
This site is also a float thing but it's a boat, not as big as PLTD ship. So like PLTD ship, this boat was also dragged by tsunami until it's hooked on the roof. You can take a picture with this boat behind you, the house with this boat on it is also filled by pictures about Tsunami. The ticket price is up to you, it's just the value to take care of it. I'm not sure if it closes at sholat's time, but I think no, cause I visited that when PLTD closed.

5. Ulee Lheue Beach
This beach is actually a coast and near the harbour. People usually come to this when the sun set, cause the sun set is so beautifuuuul when the sky is clear or not raining. You can also see Sabang Island crystal clear from here. There's a masjid near this beach that wasn't damaged by Tsunami also. So you can pray magrib after see the sunset in this masjid then you can take a look to the photos also.

6. Lampuuk Beach
This is my favorite beach in Aceh!!! Oh this is beach is too beautiful, too wide, and too many people visit here lol. This beach has an U shape, I told ya, it's too wide, so you'll be tired if you walk across this beach line. In a side of this beach, there's a cliff, a very beautiful cliff which can be your background. In the other side or I think the center of this beach, you can have an island to be your background. The sea is soooo blueee, so your eyes will be so amazed by that clear blue sea. You can enter this beach in many ways, but it ends in the same pine forest for you to have a parking.OMG I really recommend you this beach!

7. Geurutee Peak
Aaaand this also my favorite plaacee, I'd never been in this kinda place except in here. So this is just another peak that has many kiosks, Indomie kiosks actually. But you have to try this indomie!!!  This indomie is cooked with local spices, so it tastes really deliciouuuus, my best indomie!! Beside that, what makes it my fav too is the view. Oh you won't have this kinda moment but in here!!! The view is a beach with a green sea, some islands, and a forest in the land. My dad told me that it used to be a village, but tsunami drowned it and it's not be built again. But that's soooo beauuutifuuul, I really love that and I wanna be there again so bad:( This peak is located about one hour from the city but it's really worth it ❤️
Really beautiful isn't it??? The best moment's made here!

8. Geurutee Beach
You're gonna meet this beach in your way to geurutee peak from the city. I love this beach too because this beach has no enter way, it's right beside the highway, you can imagin how free you are to access this beach! The opposite of the beach is a karst hill (I think), you know the karst hill will right amaze your eyes! You can park your car or vehicle in the border of highway, or in the beach, it's up to you (can you imagine how free is that lol)
My beautiful parents being so lovely in this free beach
Even my dad jumped in the middle of the highway with those karst hills in the background

9. Pasir Putih Beach, Lhok Mee, Krueng Raya, Aceh Besar
This beach is also special because it has a white sand and crystal blueeee seaaa! But the thing is it's not in Banda Aceh, so you need an hour to go there from the city. But it's worth it too, because before you're arriving there, you'll meet some rocks from dead mountain (as far as I see or think) and you can see some floating boats like origami 💚 This beach is also not too crowded as Lampook Beach so you can explore it more!
I told you the sand is white and the sea is crystal blue right?

That origami floating boats can be seen on the way to pasir putih beach
10. Sabang Island
Everyone knows that Sabang is the most west side island in Indonesia and it has site called km 0 of Indonesia! So I'm sure you really wanna be there, cause you're gonna get a certificate of being in km 0 lol. Actually I'd never been there but my parents had. But the ship that will take you there from Banda Aceh isn't every hours, so you should check the schedule before you go. You need about a half hour to be in km 0 from the harbour. Sabang also has some beaches but I don't really know that, so if you wanna stay longer you can visit those beaches.
My parents made it!

Overall, I'm gonna say that Banda Aceh attracted me a lot. The culinary is also so good with Mie Aceh and Ayam Goreng Pramugari! I really respect the culture, every woman has to wear khimar or scarf and the couple who hasn't married yet is forbidden! Banda Aceh is a small city so you can visit those 5-6 places in a day! But if you're looking for a hotel to stay, you should make sure that the hotel is fine and not located in a region which's affected by Tsunami, because maybe you will get scared in the night, some ghosts will haunt you lol, but this is real and I'm serious with it. If you're scared about the tsunami, there are many evacuation signs so you don't have to worry. In the end, I hope you'll be in Aceh soon!
